Choosing the Right Bra Size
The right bra can make you look thinner, perkier, and smoother than
the wrong bra can. To choose the right bra you need to first look
for the size that is perfect for your body. To determine what bra
size to look for you need to follow these steps.
Choosing the Right Bra Size Step 1 Gather the Things That You Need
The first step in choosing the right bra size is to gather the
things that you need. You will need a friend, a tape measure, and
some privacy. While you can measure yourself, you will get a more
accurate measurement if you enlist the help of a close friend or
family member.
Choosing the Right Bra Size Step 2 Learn What To Do and What Not
To Do
When you are being measured you want to stand up straight and
breathe normally. This will ensure that the measurement will be a
good match to the dimensions that you really need for a bra and not
an exaggerated set of measurements. Next you will want to take off
your shirt and take measurements against your skin, or against your
current bra. Again this will help generate more accurate dimensions
to work with. Finally you will want to use a cloth measuring tape
instead of a flexible measuring tape, as the flexi-tapes can stretch
over time and distort measurements.
Choosing the Right Bra Size Step 3 Determine Your Underbust
Measurement
The first measurement that you will need to take is your underbust
measurement. Your underbust is the area directly under your bust
line. It is also the narrowest part of your figure. When measuring
this area you will want to make sure that the tape measure is at the
same position all the way around your body. This is easier to do
with the help of a friend. This will give you your correct band
size. If your measurement comes out to an odd measurement then you
will need to round up to the nearest even number.
Choosing the Right Bra Size Step 4 Determine Your Full Bust
Measurement
The next measurement that you will need to take is the circumference
around the fullest part of your bust. To get the most accurate
measurement you will want to take the measurement with your arms
down. (But dont measure around your arms. Keep the tape measure
flat against your torso.) Again make sure that you keep the tape
even all the way around your bust.
Choosing the Right Bra Size Step 5 Determine Your Cup Size
To determine your cup size all you have to do is to subtract your
underbust measurement from your full bust measurement. For example,
if your underbust measurement is 40 and your full bust measurement
is 44 inches then your cup size is a D because there is a 4 inch
difference between the two measurements.
AA cup = half inch difference
A cup = 1 inch difference
B cup = 2 inch difference
C cup = 3 inch difference
D cup = 4 inch difference
DD or E cup = 5 inch difference
F cup = 6 inch difference
G cup = 7 inch difference
