Choosing Bras for Smaller Breasts

If you have smaller breasts then you may be going without a bra. While this may be comfortable, this is not the best way to protect your breasts for sagging and it is definitely not the best way to present them. Instead of going bra free you need to find a flattering bra that will provide your smaller breasts with support and that will also maximize the attractiveness of your silhouette.

Choosing Bras for Smaller Breasts Step 1 – Know Your Correct Bra Size

A mistake that many women make is not buying the right bra size for their body. Usually they select a bra band that is too wide and a cup size that is too small. By doing this you make your breasts look misshapen and smaller than they actually are. To get the correct bra size for your body you will need to ask a friend to help you take your measurements. First you will want to measure your underbust making sure that you are measuring the area directly under your breasts and making sure that the tape is even all the way around your torso. Next you will want to take a measurement around the fullest part of your bust line. To get your bra size you will want to subtract the underbust measurement from the full bust measurement. If the difference is a half inch then you will need a AA cup, if the difference is 1 inch then you will need an A cup, and if the difference is 2 inches then you will need a B cup. There are also half cup sizes available if you fall somewhere in between. Your bra size will be your underbust measurement plus your cup size.

Choosing Bras for Smaller Breasts Step 2 – Look for the Right Style of Bra

The next step in selecting a good bra for a small bust line is to shop for bra styles that will flatter your breast shape and size. A good option is a balcony style bra. They provide lift and they created a beautiful curvy body line, even with small breasts. If you are considering padded bras then you will want to look for padding that is located on the sides of the cup and under the cup. This will give you the illusion of fuller breasts. Finally you will want to avoid bra styles that have a squared off shape. This will make you look flatter then you already do.

Choosing Bras for Smaller Breasts Step 3 – Try Bras On

One of the most important steps to take when shopping for bras is to try on a variety of bra styles and to try on bras from a variety of manufacturers. This is important because there really isn’t a standardized sizing chart for bra manufacturers. Because of this each manufacturer uses slightly different measurements for their bra sizing. To get the best fit for your body you need to try on several bras.

Choosing Bras for Smaller Breasts Step 4 – Buy Quality Foundation Garments

Quality lingerie is the key to a perfect figure. Because you will be wearing your bras everyday it is important that you buy a quality bra. They will last longer, they will provide you with better support, they will enhance the look of your breasts, and they will keep their shape longer.
