Hair Washing – How to and How Often
Most women enjoy washing their hair. It is a great way to relax and
refresh the spirit. The techniques for washing hair are usually the
first beauty rituals that women develop. However, most women wash
their hair improperly. To wash your hair properly you should follow
these steps.
How Often to Wash Your Hair
The first thing that you need to learn about washing your hair
properly is that you don’t have to do it everyday. In fact, it is
better if you don’t wash your hair every day. This is because every
time that you wash your hair you are washing away natural oils that
keep your hair healthy and hydrated. If you are active then washing
your hair every day won’t cause as much damage because sweating
promotes more natural oils to be produced. However, if you are not
very active then washing your hair every other day or every third
day should be enough to keep it clean.
Selecting a Shampoo
Selecting the right shampoo is important to how healthy your hair
is. Some hair experts say that any shampoo is fine as long as it
cleans your hair. However, since variations are made to address
specific types of hair problems then why not select a shampoo that
is designed to meet the special needs of your hair.
Cool Things Off
If you enjoy a hot shower then you will want to cover your hair with
a shower cap to protect it from the heat. You shouldn’t use hot
water to wash your hair with because the hot water damages your hair
and it can lead to split ends and other hair disorders. To avoid
heat damage you will want to use warm water to wash your hair with.
Enjoying Your Shampoo
Since life is so hectic it is nice to take time to just relax and
enjoy the sound of the water on your body. To increase the enjoyment
of your shower try using shower tablets that effervesce and emit
aromatherapy fragrance. You may also want to play soft music and
light candles to help you relax and enjoy your shampoo.
After the Shampoo
After you shampoo your hair you will want to condition it. To do
this you will want to make sure that you first select the right type
of conditioner for your hair. Next you will want to make sure that
you work the conditioner into your hair completely covering every
strand from root to tip.
Drying Your Hair
After you have washed and conditioned your hair you need to dry it.
Letting your hair air dry may seem like the best way to dry your
hair without damaging it, but air drying can actually cause your
hair to dry out. To avoid drying your hair out you should try using
a hair drier. Also to avoid damaging your hair you will want to
avoid using a brush to detangle your hair when it is wet. Instead
use a wide tooth comb and work the tangles out from tip to root.
(Avoid pulling too much on the root of your hair when it is wet).
