How to Get Tousled Hair
While the tousled look has been marketed as a fresh “new” look, it
actually has been a popular style for decades. It was made popular
by sexy film actresses like Bridget Bardot. However, today this
style has been reinvented and used to give sensual looks to young
actresses like Mischa Barton and popular favorite Jennifer Aniston
who has sported the look to important award functions as well. If
you want to learn how to get tousled hair then all you need to do is
follow these steps.
How to Get Tousled Hair – Step #1
The first step for getting tousled hair is to wash your hair. Clean
hair is the key to all great hair styles. To wash your hair properly
you will want to use warm water and the right shampoo. When you shop
for a shampoo make sure that it is designed for the type of hair
that you have.

The next step is to condition your hair. When you condition your
hair make sure that you work the conditioner all the way from the
tips of your hair to its roots. You will also want to let it
saturate your scalp as well. Finally rinse the conditioner from your
hair.

Step 3 is to dry your hair. To preserve natural waves and curls you
will want to lean forward and dry your hair upside down using a hair
dryer. As you dry your hair scrunch it to create loose waves and
curls.
How to Get Tousled Hair – Step #4
Now that your hair is dry flip in back to its normal position. Next
get out a hair gel or mousse and apply a small amount of product to
your palms. Rub the product between your palms so that both hands
are covered. Now work the product through your hair making sure that
you coat your hair from root to tip. Define curls and waves by
scrunching your hair with your hands and by ringing the locks around
your finger.
How to Get Tousled Hair – Step #5
If you have straight hair that doesn’t naturally create the wave
definition that you are looking for then you may want to use barrel
curlers and a low setting to set your curls. Once your hair is set
unroll the curlers and style your hair with your fingers instead of
using a brush. Apply mousse or gel to create hold and set your
tousled look.
How to Get Tousled Hair – Step #6
To keep your tousled look from turning slopping keep a sample sized
tube of gel in your purse. When your tresses start to fade and droop
simply duck into the bathroom, apply a little bit of product to your
hair and re-scrunch it to give new life to your waves. You can also
use the gel to control frizz and fly aways that have developed
during the night.
