Choosing Eye Shadow Colors
Choosing eye shadow colors may sound simple, but every woman who has
ever worn eye shadow has at some point selected a color that was
completely wrong for them. When you select an eye shadow color you
need to take three things into consideration. The first thing that
you need to look at is your eye color. Then you need to take into
consideration your skin tone. Finally, you need to consider your
age.
Choosing Eye Shadow Colors for Brown Eyes
If you have brown eyes then just about any eye shadow color is going
to look good on you. Greens are going to really bring out the beauty
of your eyes. You may also want to consider selecting one of the
minor tones in your eye color to make them sparkle.
Choosing Eye Shadow Colors for Blue Eyes
Selecting an eye shadow for blue eyes is a little tricky. To find a
shade that will bring out your beauty the most you will want to
consider both your eye color, your hair color, and your skin tone.
If you are the stereotypical blonde with blue eyes and fair skin
then you will want to select colors that are soft and rosy, or
peachy when you are trying for a natural look. And then use warm
browns, taupes, and darker peaches to create night time looks.
If you have dark hair and blue eyes then you can get away with using
more dramatic colors. You can even get away with blue eye shadow, as
long as it is applied correctly. You can also use greens and
purples.
Choosing Eye Shadow Colors for Green and Hazel Eyes
If you have green or hazel eyes then you will want to also stick to
warm colors. For softer looks use peaches and beige. And to create
more dramatic looks then you can use golden browns, rich purples,
and taupes.
Choosing Eye Shadow Colors for Grey Eyes
Grey eyes are not talked about as much as the other eye colors are.
However, there is no need to use bland colors just because you don’t
know what colors to use. You can actually get away with a lot of
different colors as long as you keep things balanced. Your best
options are chocolates, cool tones, purples, and browns.
Choosing Eye Shadows for Young Eyes
If you are a young woman then you can have fun experimenting with
different colors and eye shadow effects. You should feel free to use
sparkly eye shadows, as well as cream eye shadows. You can also use
more funky colors. Just make sure that the color you select is
related to the recommended colors for your eye color.
Choosing Eye Shadows for More Mature Eyes
If you are not a teenager or an early twenty-something woman, then
you will want to avoid cream eye shadows and eye shadows with
sparkles in them. Both of these products will settle into your fine
lines around your eyes and it will magnify them. Instead you will
want to use a powder shadow that has a matte finish.
