Hiding Facial Flaws with Makeup
Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but science has determined
that it is also based on facial symmetry. The more symmetrical your
facial features are the more beautiful you are perceived to be. With
this in mind you should be able to improve your beauty by using
makeup to create the illusion of facial symmetry.
Fixing Your Nose Asymmetry
When you look at your nose does it look straight and symmetrical? If
you don’t like the way that your nose looks you can use makeup to
contour its shape. The best contouring makeup is a foundation that
is a shade or two darker then your regular foundation. Apply the
darker foundation to the sides of your nose to reduce the perceived
bulk of your nose. If you feel that your nose is too bulbous then
you can apply a little of the darker foundation to the sides of the
tip of your nose to trim it down.
Create More Pronounced Cheekbones
If you have a round face you can create the illusion of a more
slender face shape by defining your cheekbones with blush. To create
this illusion you will want to use a darker blush under your
cheekbone and a lighter shade of blush to highlight the area of your
face directly above your cheekbones. This will create the illusion
that you have a thinner face and higher cheekbones then you actually
do.
Create Larger Eyes
If you were born with small eyes then you can open them up by using
eye liner and eye shadow. First of all you will want to line the top
lash line completely. Next you will want to start from the outside
edge of your lower eye lid and draw a line from this point to the
center of your eye. This will help to create an open eye. Next you
will want to use lighter eye shadow to highlight your eye brow ridge
and you will also want to use lighter eye shadow on the inside of
your eye. Then use a darker shade on the outside of your eye. This
will help to produce the illusion that your eyes are taking up more
space then they actually are. Finally apply a dark mascara to
complete the look.
Create a Fuller Lip Without Surgery
If you have thin lips and you want to create a fuller lip you don’t
have to get collagen injections. However, collagen is still a good
option to consider. If you want to take advantage of the plumping
properties of collagen you should try applying it to the outside of
your lips instead of injecting it into your lips. There are several
highly effective collagen lip plumping gels available
over-the-counter that you can use. However, some people’s lips plump
too much with these products. You should therefore test the product
out before using it for a special event.
