Mascara Tips and Tricks
The way that you apply mascara can either make or break your look.
If you apply it incorrectly you can actually damage your mascara
brush or your eye lashes. The following tips and tricks will help
you get the best results from your mascara and mascara brush.
1. How to Coat Your Mascara Brush
One of the biggest mascara mistakes that women make is to repeatedly
plunge the mascara brush in and out of the mascara tube. This
process doesn’t put more mascara on to the brush, instead it breaks
down the bristles on the brush and reduces the ability of the brush
to separate and coat your lashes. To properly coat your mascara
brush all you need to do is simply dip it once in the tube and
remove it.
2. Selecting the Right Mascara Brush
There are several different brush styles to choose from. The best
type of mascara brush is one that has a short head with fewer
bristles. This type of brush will not only be easier to control, but
it will also be easier to coat the hard to get corner lashes.
3. Keep Things Clean
Clumps are problems that seem inherent to mascara application. You
can reduce how much clumping you get but making sure that you use a
clean mascara wand to apply your mascara with. To clean your mascara
wand you can use eye makeup remover to remove the majority of the
mascara. Then you will want to finish the process by using soap and
water. Finally allow the wand to completely dry before putting it
back into the mascara tube.
4. Coat Your Lashes
If you are trying to create thicker, fuller looking eye lashes with
mascara then you will want to apply the mascara to your wand and
then, starting at the roots of your lashes, wiggle the wand back and
forth as you pull the wand to the tips of your lashes. The wiggling
action will help to separate and coat your lashes from their roots
to their tips.
5. Use Color
If you would like to a subtle hint of color to your eye makeup then
you may want to consider using a mascara that has a designer color.
Mascaras now come in a variety of colors including emerald green,
sapphire blue, royal purple, as well as several other exotic colors.
6. Protect Your Makeup From Mascara Smudges
If you have problems with your mascara bleeding onto your foundation
then here is a trick for you. After you apply your foundation and
eye shadow, apply a thin coating of face powder. Then apply your
mascara. The face powder will help to set your base makeup and it
will isolate any mascara that gets on your face making it easier to
remove.
