Re-Touching Makeup
How much time do you think you spend each day on your makeup? 15
minutes? 30 minutes? You may be surprised to learn that you probably
spend more than two hours each day working on your makeup. This is
because in addition to your morning routine for putting on your
makeup and your evening routine for taking it off, you also spend
time re-touching your makeup throughout the day. If you would like
to reduce the amount of time that you spend re-touching your makeup,
then you may want to use some of these tips.
Re-Touching Makeup Tip #1 – Know What to Pack
One of the easiest ways to reduce how much time you spend
re-touching your makeup throughout the day is to have everything
that you need for re-touching your makeup at your fingertips. The
first thing that you will need to accomplish this is a makeup pouch.
This pouch will need to be large enough to hold all of your makeup
and application tools. Next you will need makeup wipes, oil
blotters, Q-tips, powder, eye liner, concealer, moisturizer, and an
eye shadow quad.
Re-Touching Makeup Tip #2 – Re-Touching Eye Makeup
One of the makeup applications that usually will run or bleed during
the day is your eye makeup. This is because the heat of your
forehead melts the waxes and resins in the eye liner causing it to
run. Your mascara runs because of extra moisture from sweat and the
moisture from your eyes. Mascara smears can also be caused by
accidentally rubbing your eyes. If your mascara has run or smeared
you will most likely need to use a makeup wipe to clean it off of
your face. To clean smudges created by your eye liner you can use a
Q-tip to gently erase these stray marks.
Re-Touching Makeup Tip #3 – Re-Touching Your Lips
Lip stick is known for its bleeding, smearing, and fading. To
correct smudged lipstick you can use a makeup wipe to remove the
lipstick from the skin around your mouth. If the lipstick is on your
teeth then wrap a tissue around your finger and brush the lipstick
marks off your teeth. If you would like to reduce how much time you
spend re-applying your lipstick then you can use a lip liner to
define and fill in your lip color with first, and then apply your
regular lipstick. This process will extend the life your lipstick
and it will also help to prevent smearing and bleeding.
Re-Touching Makeup Tip #4 – Re-Touching Your Foundation
Throughout the day your body will produce moisture and oil
naturally. Unfortunately, while these things are healthy for your
skin, they are not good for your foundation. As moisture and oil
saturate your makeup you develop shiny spots. The best way to
re-touch these shiny areas is to take out a blotting towel and soak
up the moisture and oil, and then apply some powder.
