Removing Makeup
Learning how to properly apply makeup to look great is something
that we spend a lot of time learning. Unfortunately, we usually
don’t spend a lot of time learning how to properly remove makeup.
Because of this we usually wake up with yesterday’s makeup on our
bedding and dark circles under our eyes caused by left over mascara
and eye liner. If you would like to improve the health of your skin,
and reduce morning clean ups caused by left over makeup smears, then
these tips are for you.
Removing Makeup Tip #1 – Removing Waterproof Mascara
Even though mascara seems to run and smear with very little effort,
removing it is usually very difficult to do. It seems that no matter
what type of makeup removers that you use there are still traces of
mascara hiding in your lashes just waiting for a chance to smear on
your face, on your clothing, or on your bedding. One way to remove
waterproof mascara is to use this home remedy made from 1 part baby
shampoo, 1 part baby oil, and 1 part olive oil. Mix these
ingredients together and then dip a cotton ball into the mixture and
then use it to wipe down your eyelashes. This should remove all
traces of the mascara. If you don’t have all of these ingredients,
each works great by itself for removing eye makeup.
Removing Makeup Tip #2 – Baby Wipes
If you want a portable makeup remover then you will want to stop by
the baby aisle. Pick up a travel sized packet of hypoallergenic baby
wipes. These work great for removing waterproof eye makeup, as well
as other types of makeup. And they fit neatly into your purse.
Removing Makeup Tip #3 – Witch Hazel
If you are looking for a homeopathic makeup remover then you may
want to try using witch hazel. To use witch hazel to remove your
makeup you will want to dab a little on a cotton ball or a cloth and
then wipe down the area of your face that you are trying to clean.
Make sure to wipe both with the grain of your skin and against the
grain of your skin to get all of the makeup and to clear your pours
of residue.
Removing Makeup Tip #4 – Removing Lipstick
If you are trying to remove your lipstick so that you can reapply a
different color, or to correct a lipstick application mistake then
all you will need is a Q-tip and a baby wipe. Take the Q-tip and
place it vertically at the edge of your lip. Touch the cotton to the
lip color and roll the Q-tip. This should roll the lipstick right
off your lips. To clean up any extra color you can use a baby wipe,
makeup wipe, or other cleansing cloth. By removing the majority of
your lipstick with the Q-tip you will avoid the smearing that
normally occurs when you only use a makeup wipe to remove lipstick.
