Summer Makeup Ideas and Tips
Summertime is the perfect time to try a new look. While styles and
trends in makeup are going to change from season to season, there
are some styles and makeup trends that are in style every summer.
The following tips and ideas will help you to develop your very own
hot and fresh summer look.
Go Natural
Summer is a great time to go natural. Give your skin the chance to
breathe for a change. Minimize the amount of makeup that you wear to
a tinted moisturizer with SPF, eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara, blush,
and a tinted gloss.
Play With Bright Colors
Since everything is in bloom during the summer it is the perfect
time to add some bright colors to your makeup palette. However, you
don’t want to over do the bright colors. Instead use a bright color
on either your lips or on your eyes. Then use neutral colors or
nudes on the rest of your face.
Powder is Your Friend
Pressed powder is a great item to keep with you when you are having
fun in the sun, or when you are at work during the summer months.
You can use this item to reduce shine and to keep your skin and
makeup looking fresh.
Blotting Towels
Another great tool to keep on hand during the summer months is a
blotting towel or tissue. Blotters will allow you to absorb extra
oil and moisture from your face before it has a chance to ruin your
makeup. You can either buy blotting towelettes, or you can use a
tissue or an unused toilette seat liner.
Add Shimmer to Your Evening Look
If you want to sparkle this summer try one of the body shimmer
powders. These powders are light and easy to apply. All you have to
do is to dip a makeup brush in to the powder, tap off the extra
powder, and then sweep it across your chest, shoulders, back, arms,
or wherever else you want to shimmer. This is a great item to use
for special events like weddings and formal night events held during
the summer.
Use the Right Products
During the summer months your makeup is going to respond differently
to your skin because of the heat and the extra oils and moisture
that you skin is going to produce. Because of this you may need to
change the type of makeup that you use. For example if you want to
use a cheek color or an eye color that will last longer then you may
want to trade in your powder eye and cheek colors for a crème based
color.
