Winter Makeup Ideas and Tips
During the winter months you have several makeup challenges to face.
Your first challenges that you will need to face are caused by skin
conditions that are inherent of cold winter weather such as chapped
lips and dry skin. The second set of challenges that you will face
will be caused by holiday color palettes, after all not every one
looks good in orange and black or red and green.
Winter Makeup Tip – Moisturize
The first things that you can use to deal with winter skin
conditions are good quality moisturizers. In fact you will want to
use a moisturizer in the morning and then a night time moisturizer
before you go to bed. By developing a moisturizing routine you will
be able to keep your skin healthy and you will be creating a healthy
base for your makeup to be applied on.
Winter Makeup Tip – Take Care of Your Lips
The skin on your lips is very sensitive. During the winter months
your lips are going to get chapped, they are going to peel, and they
are going to crack. When this happens your whole look is ruined. To
minimize the disruption to your appearance caused by lip conditions
you need to take steps to prevent these conditions from developing
and you will need to take steps to treat these conditions once they
occur. To be prepared to care for your lips during the winter months
you will want to have a lip exfoliator, lip moisturizers, chap
stick, and limp balm on hand at all times.
Winter Makeup Idea – Find a Winter Color Palette
As I mentioned earlier holiday color palettes can be less than
attractive. If you want to put together a winter makeup palette for
the holiday season then you need to select colors that will
compliment holiday colors, but that will also not clash with your
skin tone and eye color. To do this you may need to rely on a
neutral color palette that is highlighted by a single holiday color
that compliments your skin tone or eye color. You will only want to
use the holiday color on your eyes or on your mouth, because if you
use it on both of these facial features then your face may look
unbalanced.
Winter Makeup Idea – Add Shimmer and Shine to Your Winter Look
During most of the year women tend to use a matte lip color.
However, during the winter months you may want to wet the look of
your lips by using a glossy finished lip color or a wet finish lip
color. This will create a glowing look that is perfect for the
holiday season and special events that happen during the winter
months.
Winter Makeup Idea – Sparkle
During the winter months you can get away with using makeup that has
more sparkle and shine to it. One way that you can add sparkle to
your makeup is to use a powder that is infused with sparkles. This
will help to liven up, and brighten up, your dull winter skin.
