Care for Each Skin Type
Using the right products and skin care techniques is important for
keeping your skin healthy. However, before you can care properly for
your skin you need to understand what type of skin you have. Once
you learn this you can find the tips and tricks that are right for
your skin type.
Caring for Dry Skin
If you have dry skin then you are probably looking for a way to make
your skin look healthier, brighter, and younger. Fortunately proper
skin care can help you to improve the look for dry skin. The first
skin care strategy that you can use to liven up your dry skin is to
hydrate your body. This will help provide your skin cells with
enough water to function properly. Next you will want to moisturize
your skin with external moisture. To do this you will want to apply
a moisturizing cream to your skin, preferably when it is still moist
from your shower. This will help to lock in the moisture from both
the water from your shower or bath and from the moisturizing cream.
Next stop using bar soap. The cleansers in soap are harsh and they
dry out your skin. Instead use a gentle cleanser that contains
moisturizers. Finally stop using hot water to clean your skin. This
too will dry out your skin. Instead use warm or cool water when
washing your face or showering.
Caring for Oily Skin
Oily skin may seem like a curse, especially when you are teenager,
however, it does have several advantages. First of all it helps you
to tan instead of burning, secondly it reduces skin discolorations,
and finally it prevents dry skin. Unfortunately oily skin leads to a
number of skin problems like acne. To care for oily skin you want to
find a balance. You want to get rid of excess oil with out drying
out your skin. To do this you will want to replace your oil based
make-ups with oil free makeup. You may also want to add in a powder
foundation to your make-up kit. Next you will want to use products
that are designed for oily skin. If you are looking for a cheap
cleanser you can use bar soap. To help balance your skin’s pH level
and to keep your skin’s chemistry balanced you may want to add a
skin toner to your beauty routine.
Caring for Normal Skin
If you have normal skin then you are lucky, your skin is already
balanced. The key for caring for normal skin is to keep it healthy
and chemically balanced. To do this you will want to use a mild
cleanser every day, you will want to use a non-greasy moisturizer
every day, and you will want to periodically exfoliate your skin to
keep it looking young and vibrant. To keep your skin normal you will
need to adjust your beauty routine as your skin’s needs change. For
example when your hormonal balance changes you may need to adjust
your beauty routine to treat added oiliness.
Caring for Combination Skin
If you have combination skin then you need to use a combination of
products that target specific areas of your face. For example you
may need to use an oil blotter to absorb extra oil on your forehead
and then use a moisturizer to treat dry patches on your cheeks. The
key to caring for combination skin is to keep your body healthy by
hydrating it properly and taking in the proper nutrition and then to
target treat problem areas of your skin with the right products.
